Jan is a sax player, pianist, and singer who started his career in 90's as a member of a American-Kazakh-Hungarian-Czech jazz band called PLAZMA. He also played in a funk quartet called The FIZZ, he did playing in various musicals for living. In the musical Jesus Christ Superstar he met a female singer Pavla Kapitanova with whom he performed until the end of her life in 2007.
As a singer he performed in several parts of the famous TV show STAR DANCE, cooperated with the band MOONDANCE ORCHESTRA. Honza is now a member of BOOM BAND, the orchestra accompanying Karel Gott. On top of that he also accompanied Lucie Bila and Helena Vondrackova. Trio or quartet made by Jan is primarily focused on jazz, soul, funk as well as pop music.
On the video attached you can see Live Jukebox – Jan Karez – trio (sax&vocals, guitar, bass). This line-up can alternatively be extended by a drummer or a female singer.
